At Catalyst Construction, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in our community. One such project that exemplifies this commitment is our collaboration with Serenity Inn, a male-only addiction treatment facility located in Wisconsin. Our involvement with Serenity Inn began with an initial tour of the existing renovations, during which it became apparent that a new building was needed to better serve the needs of the community. Upon the board’s decision to pursue construction of a new facility, we partnered with the esteemed architecture firm Allume, led by Andrea Nemecek, to develop a comprehensive plan and budget for the project.

“At Catalyst Construction, we believe in the power of every project to make a difference. Our collaboration with Serenity Inn is a testament to this belief. While the construction scope may be small, the impact on the community and the lives it touches is immeasurable. We are honored to play a part in building a brighter future for those in need.” Said Eric Williams, Director of Preconstruction at Catalyst Construction.

Serenity Inn’s status as a certified addiction treatment center necessitated adherence to strict Department of Health Services (DHS) requirements, treating the project as if it were a full medical facility. This involved navigating a rigorous review process to ensure compliance with state regulations and safety standards. Additionally, the project faced unique challenges such as poor soil conditions, earth retention issues, and stringent regulations to minimize disruption to the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Despite these challenges, our team at Catalyst Construction remained steadfast in our commitment to delivering a high-quality facility that would support Serenity Inn’s mission. The construction process, which took place during the winter months, presented logistical obstacles such as limited staging space on the tight corner lot in the residential neighborhood. However, with the support and collaboration of key stakeholders, including Serenity Inn CEO Ken Ginlack, Facility Manager Bill Buehler, and esteemed board members Marty Choren and Peter Todd, we successfully overcame these challenges to complete the project.

Our partnership with Serenity Inn underscores our dedication to supporting organizations that make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities. We are honored to have been part of this project and are committed to continuing our efforts to improve the well-being of our community through our construction endeavors.
