Challenge

  1. Design a new two-story, 42,000-sq-ft orthopaedic medical building to expand OHWI’s clinic presence. The project needed to address patient flow, surgical/procedural spaces, imaging, therapy, and outpatient services with high technical and aesthetic standards.

  2. Scale OHOW’s high-satisfaction ortho platform with additional clinic/diagnostic capacity on an active campus, maintaining patient access and brand experience throughout construction.

Solution

  1. Catalyst managed design-build from concept to completion, including layout planning, specialty room build-out, imaging & procedural suites, MEP systems, and structural details.

  2. Catalyst staged work to keep clinical operations live, coordinated imaging shielding and med gas, and delivered durable interior systems aligned to ortho patient flows.

Impact

  • Enhanced OHWI’s capacity and market presence with a modern facility in Glendale.

  • Strengthened Catalyst’s standing in specialty healthcare facility construction.
  • The expansion supported OHOW’s quality recognitions, including top CMS Value-Based Purchasing ranking (2017) and consistent Healthgrades awards (Patient Safety Excellence, Outstanding Patient Experience). OHOW’s greenspace also received MMSD’s Green Luminary® Award (2025), underscoring ongoing campus stewardship.
