Rebuild and repurpose a fire-damaged former bank at the epicenter of 2016 civil unrest into a safe, vibrant hub for entrepreneurs of color, under tight fundraising and fast-track schedules.

Solution

Catalyst led construction of a 28,000-SF adaptive reuse, preserving raw character (steel, brick, skylights) while delivering code-compliant retail stalls, wellness spaces, and shared commons. Rapid execution met community and tenant timelines.

Impact

Now home to dozens of small businesses, Sherman Phoenix is a nationally cited model for inclusive economic development and a venue for cultural programming.
