MILWAUKEE, Wis. (May 20, 2026) — Catalyst Construction is proud to celebrate the national recognition of The Village of Harmony Hill which was named a 2026 Best Assisted Living Community by U.S. News & World Report. The Village of Harmony Hill was the only assisted living community in South Dakota to receive the distinction this year.
Located in Watertown, South Dakota, The Village of Harmony Hill is part of the Benedictine Sisters’ larger legacy project on Harmony Hill, a multi-generational campus vision rooted in community, connection and care. The Village offers assisted living, memory care assisted living and independent living apartments designed to provide a true continuum of care as residents’ needs evolve over time.
Catalyst Construction joined the project in 2021, partnering with the Benedictine Sisters of Mother of God Monastery through pre-construction planning, design development and construction as the vision for Harmony Hill came to life. Working through the challenges of the pandemic and global supply chain disruptions, the project team remained focused on creating a flexible, mission-driven environment designed to support residents, families and the broader Watertown community for generations to come.
“This project was never just about constructing a building, it was about helping preserve and reimagine a legacy,” said Jon Regnerus, General Manager, South Dakota at Catalyst Construction. “From the very beginning, the Sisters had a clear vision for creating a community centered on dignity, connection and purpose. Seeing Harmony Hill recognized nationally by residents and families is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the heart behind every decision made throughout the project.”
The project represents a transformational moment for the Benedictine Sisters, who reimagined how their ministry and campus could continue serving the community well into the future. Together, the team created spaces intentionally designed to foster dignity, connection, intergenerational relationships and long-term stewardship.
Now in its fifth year, the U.S. News Best Senior Living ratings evaluates more than 3,000 communities nationwide. Communities were assessed based on resident and family satisfaction surveys, as well as key quality indicators related to safety, care, staff, management, value and overall resident experience.
Only the highest-rated communities in each care level earned a “Best” rating from U.S. News, with rankings informed by nearly 550,000 consumer surveys nationwide.
In addition to receiving the 2026 Best Assisted Living Community designation, The Village of Harmony Hill also earned recognition in the categories of Care Services and Staff & Management, distinctions awarded only to communities scoring in the top 25% nationally for caregiving, activities and enrichment, management and staff, food, and overall environment.
