Completed in November 2020, Evin Senior Care is a 123,000 square-foot senior living community with 80 residences situated on seven acres at the site of the former YMCA on Silver Lake street in Oconomowoc.
Catalyst Construction was selected as the general contractor on the project which broke ground in October of 2019. The name “Evin” pays homage to Ole Evinrude, Oconomowoc native and the founder of Evinrude outboard motors who developed the first outboard boat motor as a means of “building a better way” to conduct nautical conveyance. Catalyst’s partnership with Matter Development and the City of Oconomowoc on the project was inspired and driven by what became a nod to that facet of the community’s history in “trying to build a better way” for seniors to live the best years of their lives.
Evin Senior Care offers apartment residences for independent seniors, support services on-demand in homes, and a secure memory care facility. The building is comprised of new, wood-framed construction built into a hillside and features a hospital-grade air purification system that kills pathogens and viruses in the air, including coronavirus, with every apartment in the building having its own entirely separate and dedicated HVAC system.
