I’m Pastor Jon D. Buchholz, and from 2008 until 2024, I served as the President of the Arizona-California District of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). In that role I served a far-reaching territory, including Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, a slice of Texas around El Paso, and even reaching out to Hawaii. Throughout my 16 years in this position, I had numerous opportunities to connect our district with various ministry affiliates and personal groups. One such connection that has profoundly impacted me is with Catalyst Construction. Here are a few things that set Catalyst apart:

Innovative Vision and Mindset of Abundance

Catalyst Construction stands out with their forward-thinking approach and abundant mindset. They possess a rare combination of optimism, energy, confidence and humility that is often missing in other sectors. This perspective instills a “we can do this” attitude, crucial for overcoming challenges and pushing boundaries.

Real-World Experience and Expertise

The team at Catalyst, including Michael Klatt, Tom Baade, and Adam Arndt, brings unparalleled real-world experience. Their collective expertise and ability to inspire confidence in their partners are invaluable. This is not just a contractor-client relationship; it’s a true partnership aimed at achieving remarkable goals.

Innovative Projects and Proposals

Catalyst is known for their groundbreaking proposals, such as developing senior living facilities co-located with worship and fellowship spaces. Even when faced with external challenges like rising interest rates, their innovative ideas leave a lasting impact. They are pioneers in proposing new paradigms for mission planting, combining ministry and community services for outreach.

People-Driven Process

Catalyst’s approach is highly relational. They focus on understanding the needs, goals, and visions of their partners. This people-driven process, spearheaded by experienced individuals committed to excellence, fosters a deep sense of partnership and mutual respect.

Building Hope and Creating Opportunities

Catalyst Construction goes beyond building structures; they build hope and create opportunities. Their innovative solutions have the potential to impact communities for generations. They stand out with their vast network, unmatched expertise, and dedication to fulfilling their partners’ visions.

Refreshing Perspective

In a world often driven by scarcity and caution, Catalyst brings a refreshing perspective of abundance and possibility. Their work, as it’s fully realized, can be a tremendous blessing for the district, for the WELS, and for the broader Kingdom of God.
